today was my unofficial day off.
i gave today to a girl who needed the hours and since i was going nuts working many many many MANY days in a row, i decided to give it a go.
today i started by making strawberry jam.
since i've only ever made grape jelly and raspberry jam before, i attempted to make strawberry.
right now i have it on the counter setting before i stick it into the refrigerator for 3 weeks.
this is what it looks like.
who knows if this is what its supposed to look like, so i'll wait the full 24 before any decisions are made with this.
and then i made a sourdough starter (which i didn't photograph. why? it's boring. lol the finished product is more photogenic.)
then i whipped up my very favorite grape jelly.
yum. can't wait to spread this bad boy on toast. but i gotta wait a week for it to set. rats. lol
then i got the baking bug and decided to make cupcakes!
and that was my day set to the sounds of jason mraz, mariah carey, the jackson 5, jackie wilson, and the beatles.
good tunes make for amazing treats.
good times.

i may be slaughtered for what i'm about to post...

with chris (the nkotb drummer) outside the venue in grand rizzle.
i think i look a little too happy here. lol
a picture taken by my crappy camera phone to be text to a particular person to alert them of our arrival. lol
(mr. mentiroso said he didn't get it. but you KNOW he totally did.)

lately, i've been pretty bummed.
have you ever tried to make an entire angry beehive happy?
it's not an easy task.
and i've realized that i can't make the stupid bees happy no matter what i do, so i've come to the realization and understanding that bees can just remain pissed. i'm finished.
i can't make the world happy and if they want to stay pissed, let them.
but they need to learn to get the hell over themselves and quit being controlling.
i've had it.
i'm not no friggin nintendo controller, ya know.
i'm not the little mario guy who has to jump on the fanged mushrooms for your amusement.
so put me down punk.
today, i shall remain an individual.
never again, will i let them damn bees sting me.
